Complementary Add-On

Complementary cupping

A supportive, hands-on add-on alongside your nutrition plan. Calm, clearly structured sessions with intensity and placement tailored to your comfort.

Aurapaz is a nutrition practice first and foremost. Cupping is offered only as a complement to nutrition care, never as a standalone treatment or a replacement for medical advice.

Cupping is a supportive wellness practice, not a medical treatment. It may not suit everyone. If you are pregnant, on blood-thinning medication, or have a skin or bleeding condition, please check with your doctor first. Sessions can leave temporary circular marks on the skin.

What I Offer

Three types of cupping

🔥

Fire Cupping

The traditional method, using gentle heat to create suction. Often used to ease muscular tension and support circulation.

🫙

Classic Dry Cupping

Static suction cups placed on specific points. A calm, controlled session focused on relaxation and muscular relief.

💧

Glide (Oil) Cupping

Cups glided over oiled skin for a massage-like effect across larger muscle groups. Soothing and gentle.

Step By Step

What a session actually involves

Most people arrive with an idea of cupping from photographs of round marks on an athlete's back, and very little sense of what the session itself is like. It is calmer and more ordinary than it looks.

📝

A short conversation first

I ask about your health history, any medication, skin conditions and where you are holding tension. This is also when I would tell you if cupping is not appropriate for you.

🫙

Placement and suction

Cups are placed on the area we agreed, usually the back or shoulders. You feel a firm pulling sensation, not a sharp one. I check in as we go and adjust the strength to your comfort.

Around ten to fifteen minutes

Static cups usually stay in place for roughly ten to fifteen minutes. Glide cupping is shorter and moves continuously. Most people find it relaxing and some drift off.

🍵

Aftercare

Drink water, keep the area warm, and avoid a very hot shower, heavy training or alcohol for the rest of the day. The circular marks are not bruises from injury and typically fade within three to seven days.

Being Honest

What cupping can and cannot do

I would rather set your expectations properly than oversell this. Cupping has a long history in traditional practice and many people genuinely find it relaxing and helpful for muscular tightness. The formal research, however, is limited, and much of it is small or low quality. So here is where I stand.

What it may help with

  • A short term sense of relief in tight, overworked muscles.
  • General relaxation and the feeling of winding down, which many clients value most.
  • Feeling more comfortable in areas that carry desk or posture related tension.

What it cannot do

  • It does not cure or treat any disease, and I will never claim it does.
  • It does not remove toxins from your body. Your liver and kidneys do that job.
  • It is not a weight loss method and it does not replace nutrition, movement or sleep.
  • It is not a substitute for medical care, physiotherapy or prescribed medication.

If you are dealing with persistent or worsening pain, please see a doctor or physiotherapist. Cupping may sit alongside that care, but it should never delay it.

Safety First

Who should avoid cupping

Cupping is generally low risk when done carefully, but it is not suitable for everyone. Please speak to your doctor before booking, or skip it altogether, if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are pregnant.
  • You take blood-thinning medication, or you have a bleeding or clotting disorder.
  • You have a skin condition, open wound, burn, rash or recent scar in the area.
  • You have severe anaemia, uncontrolled diabetes, or a serious heart condition.
  • You have a pacemaker or another implanted device near the area.
  • You are running a fever or are acutely unwell.
  • You are undergoing cancer treatment, unless your oncologist has agreed to it.

Cups are never shared between clients without proper cleaning, and cupping at Aurapaz is always dry cupping. I do not offer wet cupping, which involves breaking the skin.

FAQ

Common questions

It should not. You feel a strong pulling or tugging sensation and a sense of pressure, which most people find oddly pleasant. If anything feels sharp or genuinely painful, tell me and I will release the cup straight away.
The suction draws blood towards the surface of the skin, which can leave round discoloured patches. They are not bruises caused by impact and they are usually painless. They typically fade within three to seven days.
No. That is a popular claim online but it is not accurate. The marks simply reflect small blood vessels responding to suction. Detoxification is handled by your liver and kidneys, not by a cup on your back.
No. Aurapaz is a nutrition practice, and cupping is offered only as a complementary add-on for clients already working with me on nutrition. It is never a standalone service.
There is no fixed schedule, and more is not better. For most people an occasional session when tension builds up is plenty. I would rather you spend your money on consistent nutrition than on frequent cupping.
It can be, with lighter suction and shorter sessions, provided there are no conditions from the list above. I do not offer cupping to young children.

Interested in adding cupping?

Mention it when you book, or ask on WhatsApp. I will let you know honestly whether it is a good fit alongside your nutrition plan, and I will say so if I do not think it would add much for you.
